Quote of the month
"I’ve learned that I still have much to learn…"
Terry Zietsman
I’VE LEARNED THAT...

Having just celebrated a Birthday and realising I’m no longer a spring chicken - even although some days I do feel like one – I decided to note down some things I’ve learnt over more than half a century! What I discovered in this process has been enlightening for me as well as a journey of self reflection. I’ve realised that regardless of how much we think we know it’s never enough. Furthermore I’ve learned that every day no matter how good or bad, brings with it the opportunity for discovery and growth.

I share with you some of my learnings – may they touch you, bring a smile, a memory, a chance to re-assess, an opportunity to do something different...

I’ve learned that:

...compassion, caring and kindness doesn’t cost a thing.

...being creative helps one notice the small things which give pleasure.

...making a fool of myself – occasionally - is not the end of the world.

...you are never too old to have an adventurous spirit or try something new.

...laughter sometimes really is the best medicine.

...listen and silent have the same letters!

...animals can sometimes warm your heart more than people can.

...music is food for the soul.

...candles may not make much heat but they create atmosphere and ambience.

...it’s sometimes the last key on the bunch that opens the door.

...responding rather than reacting is a much better way.

...never lose your enthusiasm for life and people.

...believing in the good in people is much more rewarding than looking for the bad.

...my sunroof in my car was worth the extra cost.

...a compliment can make someone’s day or week or month.

...I can’t change the past but I can let it go.

...you teach others how to treat you.
