Issue 46

Plato once said:
“Wonder is the feeling of the philosopher
and philosophy begins in wonder”.

Philosophy is one of the oldest disciplines in history and literally means “the love of wisdom.” Philosophers or often called thinkers seek the hidden meanings of life and things and then nurture their thoughts and lessons into words. All philosophers are different - some are full of brilliance, beauty and wisdom; some are drowned in sorrow; some are hopeful; some are sarcastic and cynical and some are humorous. However each of them finds a connection with one of us and speaks to his/her individuality.

I have for as long as I can remember been fascinated by philosophers and the messages and words that have flowed from so many.

And of course an Alternative view from some very modern philosophers who shall remain anonymous.

Be normal and the crowd will accept you. Be deranged and they will make you their leader.

Always apologize first, it annoys the crap out of people.

Born free. Taxed to death.

If at first you don’t succeed, then drag racing isn’t for you.

Take the time to smell the roses. Sooner or later you’ll inhale a bee and die.

Whenever you’re pissed off just remember that it’s better than being pissed on.

I trust this little philosophy “lesson” has brought some gentle reminders about life.

Warm regards
